Premium-grade ISO-polyester resins are formulated specifically for their high corrosion resistance and physical properties. This versatile line is an excellent performer in a multitude of applications such as tooling and mold making, filament winding, steel tank overwrap, spray-up/lay-up and cured-in-place pipe, and other uses requiring high strength, temperature, and corrosion resistance, excellent for underwater repairs where water resistance and strength are important. Isophthalic resin demonstrates good acid resistance, moderate solvent resistance, good temperature resistance, and high strength. It is corrosion, temperature, solvent and fuel resistant. It has superior wet-out and meets NSF-14 and MIL-R-7575C standards. It gels in 30 to 45 minutes. The final coat requires the addition of an air dry additive. (under our Chemicals section) It is generally chosen for mild to medium corrosive applications. It is stronger than general purpose orthothalic resin, exhibits better UV, chemical and water resistance.
